The role of spring in Automatic Faucets and Flush Valves

Springs are used mainly in the water valves, secondly in the battery holders

of the Automatic Faucets and Flush Valves.

They should be soaked in water long time while used in the water valves,

should be with heat-resistance, and anti-corrosion.

Not only must they be easy to install into batteries, be energy saving when used in the battery holders,

but be also resistance to corrosion caused by battery leakage.

Considering at least the factors listed below while designing a spring:

  • Types: Compression Spring, Extension Spring, or Torsion Spring, etc.

  • Uses: control the movement of parts, cushion the impact or movement, store energy.

  • Materials: spring steel, piano wire, stainless steel wire, oil-tempered wire, phosphor bronze wire…etc.

  • Dimensions: wire diameter, inner diameter, outer diameter, free length, number of turns, direction of turns, etc.

  • Use environment: temperature, humidity.

  • Installation space: inner diameter, outer diameter, free length, free angle.

  • Calculation of load condition: for example: A Compression Spring 1 mm length it needs 1 kg of strength,

if a Spring length is 10 mm, which means the ideal load limit of the spring is 10 kgs.

The spring is related to the smooth switching on and off water, energy saving and easy Installation of batteries.

Even though with the above described design aids, it needs to go through continuous experiments and adjustments

    that it could perform perfectly.
